Thank you for your Climate CoLab contest entry. We appreciate your willingness to share your ideas and also the time and effort you put into developing a proposal and submitting it to the CoLab site. Unfortunately, while the idea is innovative and fresh, the judges did not find it to be politically feasible or realistic and thus it was not selected for the final round of judging.

Although I absolutely appreciate judges decision and I have no doubt that the idea of this proposal is not “politically feasible”. But, isn’t it obvious that “political feasibility” has led us to where we are now with degrading environments and cities on the verge of bankruptcy? If we need positive changes happening sooner than later in our life time drastic measures are inevitable.

Hi Flora,
You make a great point.
Then what we see is needed is for the proposal to outline in considerable detail the political mobilization strategies that could lead to such policies being passed by national/state legislatures, and/or put in place by national/state executive branch agencies. Without that, proposals calling for new policies (especially ones that require major departures from current social practice) remain just "good ideas" without any prospect of actually being enacted.
We strongly encourage authors of proposals of this nature collaborate with others who are more knowledgable in the political sector, to discuss and formulate what these mobilization strategies could be. The more the proposal can address this issue (which is the primary barrier to implementation), the more politically feasible it becomes — and the bigger the chance these positive changes can actually be seen in our lifetime.
