In the future I hope the contest pages incorporate two important ideas for presentation.
1) I have encountered a lot of peopl who have difficulty registering due to language differences. Perhaps a translatiion interface will help.
2) I have also encountered many who have no problem with showinga ¨like¨ or comment in facebook and with sharing events and information in facebook, but, going uotside of facebook is a huge problem. I don´t fully understand the issues, but, it is very frustrating for me to encourage Nicaraguans to register at the colab when this aversion to leaving facebook exists. That said, perhaps some sort of interface with facebook is possible to make it easier for people to register, comment, show support and vote.

Regarding your first point, page translation is a very large undertaking (especially with constantly new/updated content) but it's something we could potentially consider in the future if there is a high enough demand. We will be releasing a survey at the end of the voting period, and can include this as one of the questions.
It's not perfect, but could Google translation or another online translation service suffice? I tried it here: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=es&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=www.climatecolab.org&act=url
Regarding your second, would a "Sign in with Facebook/Twitter/Google" (such as with The Guardian http://www.theguardian.com/) eliminate this barrier?

Awesome feedback, Laur... thanks for the quick reply. Perhaps a note at the top' of the pages saying something like - translate the web page here... with redirect to google translate... to make that simple and yes, a sign in via facebook-twitter-google-wordpress or some such function would be really cool :)
