The ICT platform project could really give a boost to the recycling industry of India’s cities. By allowing access to the best practices in the field through their partnerships, the networked organizations can share the optimized solutions adapted to the local reality. The possibility to exchange services and goods and to share problems and solutions is very promising for the future developments of the project.

Judge 2
The proposal is very ambitious and the willingness to meet several needs using a single tool might represent a great challenge. The financial sustainability and the support of an experienced country like Germany will certainly contribute to this project success, even if cultural adaptation could be challenging. Education is assuredly the first essential step to ensure long-term change in India in the good way. The proposal would remains interesting even with only one of the services proposed through this platform project. Focusing on education and research through problem solving might be a sufficient and very good start.

Judge 3
Several challenges are addressed in the project. Collaboration between India and Germany that is very advanced in waste management makes sense, but it should be taken into account that these two countries have different background and culture. Too often we want to simply paste existing models from one country to another but in this case, it would be worth exploring how German knowledge might be enriched by Indian experiences and transformed into an innovative circular model. Milestones described in the project show high ambition, what is good. Evaluation of the feedback and results on each of the implementation stages can help navigate to the successful and impactful result.

Judge 1:
A web platform designed to educate, exchange services and find solutions for improving municipal solid waste looks like a good idea in the Indian context where waste management is not yet well structured. The collaboration with Germany, which is very advanced in this sector, is a good element in the project. The idea of using the platform to solve problems encountered in companies is a good way to integrate learning. The proposal team should evaluate the risk of making one platform for both training and exchange of services and goods. These are two quite different objectives and target audiences. This could involve management and promotion challenges. Does the cost include the platform web maintenance? In summary, 100 tons: is it a mistake?

Judge 2 :
The approach is trying to address several challenges what makes it complex and in certain points also complicated to manage. It is nice to see strong ambition and potentials that can be turned into opportunities. Stakeholders are very well defined and actions clearly introduced. Financial sustainability of the model is also one of the beneficial components of this project. The partnership between India and Germany can significantly contribute to the knowledge transfer, while cultural and economic differences among this two markets have to be taken into account when designing a proper business model. Even if only first stages of the project will be realised (education and certification) this can already be considered as a good start.
