@cyclonebuster, thank you for this proposal and your other related proposals. I appreciate your focus on improving the efficiency of existing power plants. There is certainly a need there. I would like to see you flesh-out the proposal in terms of costs, implementation strategy, sales pitch to government, etc. Also, could deep ocean/lake water be used for this cooling as well, given that many such thermal plants are located on oceans or lakes.

Hi Jeff,
Cost would be determined by size.I doubt such a system would cost more than the diesel itself. As you can see in the diagram it is a very simple system and yes deep cool ocean water or lake water would work as long as we can get to 50 to 60 degree F water at depth. Well water is usually always between 50 and 60 degrees F.. Implementation strategy would be to build a few test models and go from there and once government finds out the fuel savings I am sure we can get some research grant money. If you like my proposals feel free to click on the the icon for support proposal near the top right.
Thanks,
Pat

While this proposal has the potential to be an effective way to save and generate energy, we would like to see analysis regarding cost effectiveness of a pilot plant. For a future proposal, you and your team could focus on building up a hypothetical project and extrapolate and scale it to show a wider scale effect.

Take a look at the VW 1.0 liter diesel electric car.

So now we got to be analysis and cost effective specialist's for said proposal submissions. What's next? Do we have to become mathematicians, also? I don't think this is the intent of the contest..
ecoelite, similar but I don't think that model usees the wasted exhaust heat of the engine...
