Steve Moilanen is Co-Founder and CEO of Solstice Initiative, a first-of-its-kind social enterprise aimed at radically broadening the number of American households that can benefit from solar power. Steve spent years crafting energy policy on behalf of the White House Office Energy and Climate Change, which was responsible for crafting federal investments in clean energy, promulgating fuel efficiency standards, and managing the federal response to the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Steve’s experience includes employment with the United Nations Environment Programme, the U.S. Department of Energy, and Obama for America. Steve has written extensively on energy and environmental issues, including a forthcoming article on the Keystone XL pipeline and a consulting report on the expansion of microgrids in India. Steve graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School. He originally hails from Minnesota.
