Semi-Finalist Evaluation
Judges'' comments
The Climate CoLab adaptation contest team appreciates the time that you took to submit this proposal. The judges were concerned that the scope of this enterprise may be unreasonably large - you can consider ways of narrowing it while making it more novel than the many similar initiatives that already exist. It would be good to think about the politics, costs and institutional relationships that will invariably have an effect on the enterprise, and provide greater clarity around who would have the skill and credibility to put together the implicit analysis of trade-offs. You may also want to re-consider the notion that an Open Discussion Forum on this platform would be useful - it is more likely that only a carefully guided or facilitated dialogue aimed at building a shared community of practice would work. Contrary to what is suggested in the proposal, creating an online platform to change agricultural practices is both controversial and technical. It would also be of benefit to more carefully spell out how this will change farming needs. While your proposal is not advancing to the semi-finals this year, the contest team wishes you the best of luck in your endeavors and would love to see a proposal from you next year incorporating this feedback.
