Experienced in integrated communications, Loretta is familiar with nonprofit structures and currently works as development director for Solar Cookers International, celebrating its 30th year in existence in 2017-18.

Loretta's goals include joining others to work for the common good; to make positive changes in a world with the potential to empower more people in each new generation; to be challenged and grow as a life-long learner while encouraging others to achieve their dreams.

To paraphrase Margaret Meade, "Never underestimate the power of a handful of people to change the world."

Specialties: Writing for a wide range of audiences, building professional relationships, and educating people about sound fundraising principles.

"When I learned that the fourth leading cause of death in developing nations was indoor air pollution, I wanted to stand with people who work to change that.No one should have to risk a child’s death due to open fire cooking at home." 

What attracted her to SCI was a deep desire to participate in a mission that improves conditions for people who are poor throughout the world.Loretta believes that how organizations communicate determines how donors give.
