Johanna Hoffman is a landscape and urban designer, coastal adaptation strategist, and writer on climate change and its impacts on the built environment. Storytelling is a key factor in all of her work, both as medium and subject. She is particularly interested in how our landscapes change over time, in physical form as well as in our collective imaginations. Currently working as a Resilient Design Associate for Urban Fabrick, Johanna uses visioning, communication, design and planning techniques to develop innovative and practical solutions to negotiate the challenges of climate change. She has lectured and presented her work at various institutions, including the Rhode Island School of Design, the University of California Berkeley, and the Environmental Design and Research Association. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.
