Meisha Hunter Burkett joined the staff of Li/Saltzman Architects (LSA) in 2008 as a Senior Preservationist where her expertise in regulatory and design review has been lent to a wide spectrum of projects, including preservation analyses of individually designated landmarks and buildings within historic districts, archival research of historic structures, and performing design review and evaluating the preservation impacts of proposed alterations and additions on these properties. With 10 years of public sector experience and extensive knowledge of city, state and federal agencies' regulations, Ms. Hunter Burkett provides critical guidance for LSA's projects involving historic buildings and sites. Moreover as a recipient of the NEA Rome Prize in Historic Preservation, Ms. Hunter Burkett offers an international perspective on the stewardship of historic infrastructures. At LSA, Ms. Hunter Burkett performs archival research, reviews proposed designs for appropriateness, prepares regulatory documentation and cultural resource surveys, assists in the development of preservation planning guidelines, and services as liaison with preservation commissions/agencies.
