Sarah works in the MIT Office of Sustainability as a Sustainability Manager, where she is responsible for guiding the strategy of the campus related to campus climate action, regional collaboration on climate resiliency and mitigation efforts, and the development of MIT's living laboratory programs. Sarah’s work focuses on transforming higher education through operations, strategic planning, engaged learning and research, and living laboratory engagement to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century, and model the transitions necessary to create a just and sustainable society for all. She currently serves on the AASHE Advisory Council as well as several local, regional, and state advisory committees for climate leadership, resiliency & adaptation planning, and applied urban research and is a member of the USGBC Massachusetts Board of Directors. Sarah was previously Director of Climate Resilience & Educational Programs at Second Nature and Sustainability Education Coordinator and a lecturer at Dickinson College. She attended Ithaca for her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Communication Management & Innovation, and is a certified permaculture designer.
