Member Profile
Catalina Oaida is a California Institute of Technology Postdoctoral Scholar at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Catalina’s work in the Water and Carbon Cycles Group at JPL contributes to furthering our understanding of mountain snow and snowmelt due to natural, climate change, and other human practices forcings. Her research has been focused on improving snow processes in land surface and regional climate models to better understand the impacts of dust and black carbon loading of mountain snow on the water and energy balance, at a local and regional scale. She is interested in human-environment interactions, and how scientific knowledge can help improve the wellbeing of both.
