Juliette Rooney-Varga, Ph.D., is the Director of the UMass Lowell Climate Change Initiative and an Associate Professor of environmental biology. Her research includes topics related to carbon cycling, climate change and energy. She leads the NASA-funded Climate Education in an Age of Media (CAM) Project, as well as a National Science Foundation-funded project with Climate Interactive that uses simulation-based role-playing exercises as immersive climate change education tools.
