Member Profile
I am a climate information provider working with NGOs, primarily in Asia, to understand how dynamic vulnerability and a changing climate are creating new climate risks in communities, and what we can do about them. I am particularly interested in people's perceptions of how climate is changing and what impacts it has on their lives. This knowledge is not often represented in formal climate records or analysis. Yet, it must be integrated into formal vulnerability and risk assessments and be presented to policy makers to help them understand why some options might not work despite being cost-effective.
I have been working with NGOs like the Institute for Environmental Transition, INTASAVE Asia-Pacific, and Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group in support of their efforts around disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation planning with communities and governments at the local to national level.
I received my Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MS in Water Resources Civil Engineering, also from CU.
