Member Profile
Shannon Cosentino-Roush earned a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Environmental Studies, a Master’s of Environmental Law and Policy, and a J.D. She has both national and international policy experience, namely related to international fisheries, working in the past with the US government’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the UN FAO, the International Monitoring, Control, and Surveillance (IMCS) Network, and currently as a fisheries and legal consultant based in Africa. Shannon believes that the key to sustainably managing the global environment for the future benefit of all is cooperation among all stakeholders from governments to NGOs and industry alike. Shannon particularly believes that citizen involvement and ownership is essential in the movement towards improved environmental sustainability. For this reason, she is interested in how we can leverage individual and community participation in identifying and implementing solutions to the climate challenge.
