Dr Kurt Roth is Director of the Building Energy Technologies Group at the Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE). His group collaborates with industry on applied research to develop, analyze, test, evaluate, and demonstrate energy-saving building technologies. Dr. Roth has led several studies to assess the energy savings of and commercialization potentials of building controls and diagnostics, HVAC, toplighting, and information technologies (IT). In addition, he leads analyses to characterize building energy consumption by building end uses, completed studies include consumer electronics, IT, miscellaneous and electronic loads (MELS), and medical equipment. Dr Roth, has presented at numerous conferences and meetings, and authored more than sixty "Emerging Technology" articles for the ASHRAE Journal.
