Has got a Doctoral degree from the University of Mumbai. The topic for the Ph.D research was "Study of Intertidal fauna of Thane Creek" in Mumbai Maharashtra, India.

Worked with the WWF-India, Mumbai office as Senior Education Officer and Interim State Director from 2004 till 2011.

Presently working as Senior Scientist in the Wetland Ecology Division at Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), Coimbatore, India. I also coordinate the SACON ENVIS center on wetlands. The envis centre collects, collates and diseminates information on the wetlands across the globe.
