We are a Community Based Organization called The Society for the Promotion of Initiatives in Sustainable Development and Welfare (SOPISDEW). We are
a non-profit, apolitical and volunteering development NGO with head office in Elak–Oku rural community in the north west region. Our workis strictly community focused and geared towards enhancing andpromoting sustainable development, culture, peace, social justice and welfare for the rural and indigenous people. We intend to meet up with the UN set Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and beyond as a local priority. Our vision is to a rural society where the gap between the urban advantages and rural disadvantages are narrowed down and streamlined
through the spirit of volunteerism and participation. A rural and indigenous people who are less marginalized by empowering their socioeconomic, cultural and moral abilities while their equalopportunity rights are discovered and exploited to the greatest advantage in a sustained environment and a world free of corruption and
endowed with global justice.
