Born and raised in New York City. I graduated Rutgers University with a degree in environmental science after growing up fishing, camping, hiking and generally trying to escape to the woods whenever possible. I then enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America and have spent the past few years working as a chef in several highly-ranked restaurants, including Cafe Boulud and Gramercy Tavern. Leaving the restaurant industry to pursue my graduate studies in sustainability and public policy at Columbia University stems from a desire to help solve the larger problems currently facing society.
