Even though at first sight it does not show its message for more climate-friendly behaviors, I believe that its practicality will deliver in the end that message. Moreover, I have to admit that for me it looks like more a practice than a project, fully sincere it looks like a project to establish a practice. In order the proposal of yours to succeed, I strongly believe that you might need to add in your whole proposal strong performance tools like PESTEL-DG and SWOT Analysis, Risk-Assesment Analysis or even a more market focus approach like the Business Model Canvas by Strategyzer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Model_Canvas) and basic financial indexes approaches (like EBITDA, ROE, ROA, Cash Ratio, Earnings Quality etc.), since as far as I understand your clearinghouse will be having an economic point of view: I do not know if you will have to make it be a company, a start-up, or a non-profit organization. In first two cases for survival reasons, you will need the above mention tools for sure, especially if you want to take a loan, for the third one those tools might be a very good aid towards resilience. What is more, I believe that you might need a very solid translation team, since your focusing countries are so differentiated. Not to mention the country-risk that you must take into account. As Greek citizen and resident, I have to admit that you might face a lot of difficulties mostly due to mentality and technology knowledge poverty. Perhaps, creating a relevant app might help reach so different audiences. In general terms, that is a very good proposal and I hope you will make it as successful as it can be. Best of luck!!! |
Pia Jensen Oct 1, 2017 05:55 | Proposal contributor Anastasia - Thank you so much for your insightful comments.. you note activity I had not considered (e.g. PESTEL-DG and SWOT Analysis, Risk-Assesment Analysis or even a more market focus approach like the Business Model Canvas by Strategyzer) though I am familiar with SWOT (been out of the 'game' for awhile, so not familiar with the others) and was thinking of several distribution assessment and other customer satisfaction models. Completely "get" what you mean by project to establish practice - and, ultimately that is the intent... to jump start global practices through a project. And, yes, a translation team is vital - thinking our connections will come from already existing project participants in other countries, e.g. permaculture is practically everywhere now and English is more commonly known among younger generations in many countries now. Especially appreciate your note on considering how CARD might be organized. I have to admit, non-profit was my ultimate choice because I desire to make so much of the resources available at no or low cost to recipients. And - loans feel incredibly risky, all things considered. But, it is worth a looksee considering your referrals. I agree about Greece. My experience there (2013) and the experience my mother presented (late 1980s) showed me that certain cultures are more complicated than others when faced with change - one reason I chose Greece: I find challenges very motivating.
