Barsa Barsa Aug 7, 2017 02:14 ![]() | It's a great initiative to bring together intellectuals and researchers working in the field. However, it will be great if you could mention what methods you will be using to process the excreta to use as fertilizer as unprocessed excreta is harmful and has health implications. All the best. |
Ridwan D. Rusli Aug 16, 2017 08:46 ![]() | Novel idea, albeit requires complex regional and international coordination efforts. Q is how to prioritize (against)and synergize this effort with other organic waste processing efforts and technologies, eg from animal farms, etc. |
Hemant Wagh Aug 19, 2017 05:58 ![]() | Proposal contributor 1) Barsa Barsa's issues addressed in Summary. 2) Rusli's concerns a) prioritize in the sense of according greater priority than presently being b) |
Hemant Wagh Aug 19, 2017 06:05 ![]() | Proposal contributor B) Domestic animal enclaves aren't located in urban areas at least in the developed countries and hence wouldn't pose any problem in urban areas. Urban areas would have far greater availability of Human Excreta for processing. C) Coordination efforts needed & hence MIT is better placed. D) The Society would be in better position to make efforts for synergies with other organic waste processing efforts. |
Pia Jensen Aug 22, 2017 08:57 ![]() | Findhorn's Ecovillage presents tested and proven sewage treatment through an "ecologically engineered sewage treatment plant is designed to treat sewage from the population of up to 500 people living at the Findhorn Ecovillage and is providing a research and educational facility to promote ecological water treatment technology throughout the world." Hemant Wagh Aug 22, 2017 09:58 ![]() | Proposal contributor Hi PJ, thanks for your valuable information. My principal argument is that all people whether researchers, field workers, intellectuals or concerned persons and institutions should join together to create an International Society dedicated for this purpose rather than making scattered attempts at developing the solutions. That would be much more valuable. |
Hemant Wagh Aug 22, 2017 10:46 ![]() | Proposal contributor The information about Findhorn would be useful for the Society and The Society. |

Pia Jensen Aug 24, 2017 08:37 ![]() | I agree, Hermant - "join together to create an International Society dedicated for this purpose rather than making scattered attempts" - this is similar to what my proposal presents as a solution - creating a "one-stop shop" (open source) where anyone can find tested and proven solutions to use in their community https://www.climatecolab.org/contests/2017/adaptation. Thinking about your statement and it (CARD) could also be host to solutions designers/developers to present their ideas for public review. Thanks for the inspiration! |

Sergio Pena Sep 8, 2017 05:15 ![]() | Hallo, this initiative is different than others. However, the legal framework to the initiative seems not to be clear considering that the application is global. International law and international relations, as disciplines, do not have any framework for such effort and elements related to human seurity, most notably the problem of waste transportation and human health seem to be of importance. Best. Sergio |
