Put A Price On It by Our Climate
Renzo Guinto Sep 9, 2017 04:37 ![]() | Thanks for your proposal! Mobilizing young people immediately and on a large scale is indeed vital if we are to influence policy at state and federal levels. I'm curious if there are specific carbon pricing proposals that the campaign will be supporting and advocating for? I think that the strength of a campaign lies on the size of the movement, the creativity of the campaign strategies, and the content of the campaign, which in this case pertains to specific carbon pricing proposal or principles. |
Eric Strid Sep 20, 2017 02:48 ![]() | Hi Page, Camilla and all--I love your energy and passion to educate everyone on emissions and climate change. A word of caution: when ExxonMobil is in favor of a weak price on carbon, I think we need to be careful of what we ask for. In spite of the trend of more countries trying to price carbon, there is precious little evidence of efficacy. (I learned early in my engineering career that computer models are highly susceptible to garbage-in-garbage-out.) For example, sector-specific policies are working and shouldn't be ignored. Thanks for your efforts at driving for meaningful policy changes! Eric |
