Thank you for your contest entry. We have looked at your proposal and found that it contained intriguing elements; however, it does not address the contest prompt. We encourage you to review the contest resources page and to keep developing your idea before the August 31 deadline. You can also transfer your proposal to a more relevant contest or to the Proposal Workspace to re-open it, make edits, add collaborators, and even submit it into a future contest. You can do so by logging into your account, opening your proposal, selecting the Admin tab, and clicking “Move proposal” or “Copy proposals”. Reach out to us if you have any questions about how to complete your proposal. All the best, 2015 Climate CoLab Fellows Remarks: The proposal deals with Smart Water Management (SWM) with Sensors, Communication technologies and Analytics to improve efficiency of distribution and consumption of water. It aims to provide an overview of the key aspects of a pilot SWM in New Delhi, aimed at assisting key water management problems faced by cities. The proposal seems relevant particularly from the viewpoint of development of “smart cities” that incorporate ICT tools. However, it is recommended that the proposal could incorporate additional details such as the overall costing of the pilot project, payback, the stakeholders involved, the institutional framework, and linkages to climate change. The feasibility angle (technical, economic, social, political) needs to be explored further.

Dear Aatish Sir / Janardhanan - san , Greetings to you. Thanks very much for your valuable feedback, deeply appreciate it. We are in the process to overhaul our proposal to both as per the specific feedback we have received and also make it more specific to the ICT solutions we envision to solve the identified problem area of mass scale water loss and using ICT as an enabler for water conservation, including the financials. I have 2 queries please: 1. The first line of your feedback says, 'it does not address the contest prompt'. I would request to know if this statement is because it is felt that water conservation does not have a direct impact on Climate Change and thus should not figure as India's Climate Action plan? We strongly feel though, that wastage of natural resource i.e water has a direct impact on climate change which should be urgently addresses across India, also because of the water - energy nexus, savings in water through improving efficiency in distribution and reducing non-revenue water has a direct impact on saving energy and thus a strong and unavoidable correlation of water and climate change. 2.We want to estimate the emission impact of this proposal, based on the water - energy - climate nexus and request your guidance. Thanks very much. Best Regards, Prasun Team GAIA

Thanks very much for the valuable and timely feedback.

We have now taken the line of thinking one step forward, and have enhanced the scope from Internet of Water to Smart City Common ICT infrastructure for Internet of Meters and Sensors.

Essentially, we have proposed a sensor network, which would enable integrated meter data reading and would allow all the smart solutions to be built and implemented using the sensor network.

The proposed pilot is also at a client site, and the sensor network has application across Energy Supply, Buildings, Transportation, waste management etc

The implementation of the pilot has application at all the smart city projects, going to happen in the country and integration of water - gas - power would be the first of its kind effort across the world.

Hello All,

Our proposal needs following corrections please:

1. In the plan ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’ needs to be correctly spelled as Swachchh/ Swachch Bharat Mission (Clean India Initiative)

2. In the Section ‘What are the Plan’s Cost’…under A) Cost, the fifth line is “Total project cost is = 13.75 M$ + 6 M$= 19.75 M$ ”. It has to be corrected to Total project cost is = 14.735 M$ + 5.015 M$= 19.75 M$”

Thanks very much
