Five Billion Hectares of Hope: Inspiring Action to Address Climate Change by Savory Institute

Whatever merit this proposal may have - and it is important to know that many scientists disagree with Mr. Savory's basic premises - the livestock industry is one of the single greatest users of energy, water, and grain. It is highly inefficient, and is often highly destructive. The public lands across the western US bear silent witness to the damage cows have caused to a fragile landscape. And the climate benefits of this proposal seems at best tangential. I would hope this is given the kind of skeptical scrutiny it deserves. More cows are simply not a path forward to a healthier planet.
