I have been working as senior research biologist at Wildlife Institute of India. In my past eight years of involvement with the institute, I have contributed in various research projects related to the conservation and management of Asiatic lions and Tigers in India. My work in particular required a lot of independent research, experimentation, self motivation and understanding of different aspects of forestry, natural resource management, GIS, remote sensing, landscape ecology etc. Added to the success of research, recommendations of my study was accepted and implemented with the declaration of "Eco-Sensitive Zone" under the environmental protection act 1986. At present, I am coordinating the countrywide assessment of tigers, co-predators and its prey in India, leading a team of 70+ research biologists and volunteers in field sampling activities in protected areas, data preparation, analysis and formulation of project reports. The project aims in countrywide assessment of spatial occupancy, population limits and abundance of tigers, habitat condition and connectivities within and outside protected areas which is crucial to be assessed for incorporating conservation objectives into land use planning across landscapes so as to strengthen the long term conservation of forest ecosystem keeping free ranging tigers as an umbrella species. I have been selected for the prestigious LEAD scholarship in 2014. As a part of LEAD, I am committed to the development which is environmentally sustainable, socially equitable and economically viable.
