Buildings 2015
What initiatives, policies and technologies can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the building sector?
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates that buildings will account for over 25 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions in 2030 and that nearly half of these emissions can be avoided at modest cost. This contest seeks proposals on how emissions from buildings can be significantly reduced, with a focus on increasing energy efficiency.

Build a full size 3D Printed Hempcrete Structure to demonstrate Hemp/3D Printing as a sustainable alternative to traditional construction.
Energy efficient homes are unaffordable with conventional bank financing. Locally issued value indexed bonds will make them affordable.
Establishment of energy + + Buildings in a sustainable style of construction, currently wood - 100% renewable energy supply (electric, heat)
To make the first Window Insulating Plug&Play solar panel to save energy on Air-conditioning, while making clean energy. Anyone can install.
Super-Energy-Efficient Houses Offer Free-Market Choice to Save Money, Homes and Lives WITHOUT Regulation or Fossil-Fuel Industry Resistance
We will leverage the market for demand response to enable widespread adoption of home energy management systems
Want to cut carbon pollution? Start w/ buildings: give real-time feedback on energy consumption and crowdsource the hunt for energy leaks.
Focus on lost ecosystems of urban development . (Climate Colab ,I need Global option for my impact , regions option is not enough)
Algae Frame to handle Global Warming. This differs from other approaches, its simple and more efficient but requires government support.
Update building codes to encourage/require green technology.
Off-grid tiny home demo w/biodiesel from septic tank effluent, all-electric, std constr to code, 14x20ft 2-story+grnhs, H2O w/cistern, 3kw.
Alternative to Wood type insulated framing methods, less material and labour and overall costs, for a Quality, Super Insulated Structure
Hemp in Hempcrete is a GREAT way to lock up CO2. But there's no space to grow enough. Until now.
