Detailed distribution of CoLab Points among proposals
CoLab Points are awarded to a winning global proposal and are shared among all the people responsible for creating the content the proposal contains.
This includes those who created the:
- global proposal itself
- regional proposals that are included in the global proposal
- basic proposals that are included in the regional proposals
- basic proposals that are included in the cross-regional section of the global proposal
The system for distributing points among all these people is intended to allocate points roughly in proportion to:
- the amount of work needed to do the different tasks and
- how important the tasks are.
The tentative allocations to accomplish these goals are outlined as follows:
For each global proposal:
- 5% - creators of the global proposal itself
- 2% - creators of the basic proposals included in cross-regional section (divided equally among all the proposals listed)
- 93% - divided among the six regional proposals in proportion to their projected emissions in 2050 under the business as usual (BAU) scenario. These proportions are approximately as follows:
10% - United States
7% - Europe
34% - China
7% - India
7% - Other developed countries
34% - Other developing countries
------
100% - Total
For each regional proposal:
- 10% - creators of the regional proposal itself
- 90% - creators of the basic proposals included in regional proposal (divided equally among all the proposals listed)
Depending on the experiences and opinions of the Climate CoLab community during the early parts of the 2015 contests, these percentages may be adjusted before the final proposals are submitted. If you have suggestions on changes about these proportions, let us know.
