Member Profile
A 6-year veteran of the space program (STS and space station), employed in the energy industry for the last 20 years, with contributions in lean process improvements and project management. Formal education includes BS Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, MSIE in Engineering Management from University of Central Florida, and Associate in Aircraft Maintenance from Community College of the Air Force. In my opinion, there are varying types of engineers, including genesis, breadth, and depth types. I consider myself a reasonable conceptual engineer and project manager. I generate ideas, ask questions, and act as a catalyst to integrate specialists into high-performing teams. I would not consider myself a good depth/detail designer. I like studying a problem, collecting information, leading a team of depth-type engineers/scientists to evaluate potential solutions, and helping that team iterate to multiple generations of viable solutions.
