Amitabha Sadangi is the founder of IDEI and holds the position of the Executive Director. IDEI is a section 25 not for-profit company. Under Amitabha's leadership IDEI has grown from a small team of 10 to the current team of 300+ professional working and its work has been awarded the following awards- Tech Museum 2010; Zayed Future Energy Prize 2010; Ashden Awards Outstanding Achievement Award 2009; Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, 2008; Ashden Award for Sustainable Energy, 2006; Skoll Foundation- Social Entrepreneurship Awards 2005; Templeton Freedom Prize Award, 2005; Most Innovative Project Award by GDN, 2005; Fellowship with the World Technology Network, 2004; Tech Museum Award 2004.
Amitabha's vision led IDEI to develop and submit a programme under the carbon credit programme in addition to receiving funding support from multi to bi-lateral agencies, foundations both local and international. Amitabha leads the development of new programmes and products; Develops partnerships with donors, corporate and global networks; Provides leadership to current programme; Conceptualising and leading new programmes; Expansion of programmes globally; Leading the research and development arm of the organisation; Strategic planning and direction to the organisation; Leading overall development process and staff.
