Pitch

Solar energy could be used for transportation by using solar powered batteries to be used in vehicles as a clean alternative.

Description

Summary

To use solar energy for transportation, you would need 1 or more large battery stations located in the garage depending on how many people and vehicles there are. These battery stations will be filled with lots of energy throughout the day, when the sun goes down, these stations can store all of the energy they were provided with for up to two days. At night when a family or person gets home from work, they will plug in their car and then all of the energy from the battery station will charge up the car with enough energy to get around everywhere you need to go for the next day. Then the cycle continues. There are batteries and they will be of a large size. The solar array that would be able to power this idea would be and array of about 10 panels per vehicle which means that each battery saver would be powered and charged with 10 panels. Approximately 1000 watts of sunlight per squaremeter of surface. That's approximately equal to the powerof the sun at noon, on a sunny day. On a snowy or rainy day, typical solar panels can produce 10-25% of their rated capacity. The exact amount will vary depending on the density of the clouds, and may also vary by the type of solar panel; some kinds of panels are better at receiving diffuse light. SunPower solar cells, for example, have been designed to capture a broader range of the solar spectrum. By capturing more red and blue wavelengths, their solar panels can generate more electricity even when it’s overcast.

What actions do you propose?

ducating the public would be one step into helping people want to help the environment. By educating the public about the environment and how we can help it, people would be more likely to want to help.

Another action that would help would be paying people to clean and/or help the environment. By paying people, more people would want to help.

Educating the public and paying people to help the environment are two of many ways we an start cleaning and helping the environment.

Who will take these actions?

The president of the United States would be the face of helping the environment. He could help educate the public and teach people about the environment and how we can help it. The government could pay people to help and could also help educate the public. Organizations could also educate their people and donate to helping the environment. And finally, individuals could help the environment by cleaning and helping the environment and educating each other.

Where will these actions be taken?

These actions would first occur in the United States, and soon other countries would hopefully follow the United States lead. The United States would help clean, protect, and help the environment and other parts of the world would soon follow.

How much will emissions be reduced or sequestered vs. business as usual levels?

What are other key benefits?

The environment and society of the proposed actions would become cleaner, safer, and better in general. The environment such as the air would be a lot cleaner to breathe and global warming would eventually be stopped or be a lot less. Society would begin appreciating the Earth more and would help save the environment and make for a cleaner and better place to live.

What are the proposal’s costs?

Solar energy would be very expensive at first but eventually would end up being less to use solar energy instead of gasoline. The economy would have expense issues for the first few years and costs would be difficult to manage. Lots of jobs would be lost but new jobs would be made.

Time line

In short term (5-15 years) it would be hard to transition to solar energy and helping the environment more, jobs would be lost and it would be expensive. It would also be confusing for many. It would be a difficult transition. The environment would start getting better.

In medium term (15-50 years) it would start become the norm and prices would now be less. The transition would be over and people would be used to how it all worked. Although jobs were lost, new jobs were created. The environment would be a lot better.

In long term (50-100 years) this is now how the world works. The environment would be so much cleaner and better. Global warming would virtually not exist.
