Pitch

VAWTs to replace chimney pots, balconies to support solar-wind combos, numerous solar clad pylons with VAWTs, and endless reflective paint.

Description

Summary

Straightforwardly to cut emissions is is necessary to micro-generate wherever possible, the first step being an audit of retrofit potential, such as the numbers of redundant chimney pots, the amount fo open water for buoyant solar panels, the small hydro opportunities, the area available for roof solar panels, and the number of multiple function electricity pylons needed to replace the classic designs.

There is also the audit of rooftops and other surfaces suitable for solar reflective paint applications.

There is also the identification of potential insulation sites.

Following the audits, the identification of manufacturing sites, and recruitment of staff for the manufacturing and installation of renewable technologies, and also the painting work. There is also the shading work - tree planting and the artificial shading of buildings.

This is the direct work to reduce emissions, and increase sequestration and reflectivity, but there is also additional work - removing CO2 and methane arising from compost and refuse tips, growing more food locally, changing diets to reduce methane and increasing yields per acre.

The Ask

One key resource is enthusiastic and knowledgeable council workers, determined their city will be zero carbon in the immediate future, and also determined to make up for the loss of reflectivity at the poles by painting surfaces, including roads and runways white.

Another key resource is the funders determined that their contributions to materials, saplings and labour costs will be sufficient.

Also, awareness raising in local media outlets so that the public also contributes where possible.
