Actually my idea was covering the whole buildings with creepers. Beginning from level one to ground zero; similarly from level two to level one and so on covering the whole building with it. I had ideas about irrigation maintenance and all but since you have given this idea if i will participate it will look like i have copied yours and enhanced it.

I like your idea. It has the added benefit of making everything more beautiful. I wonder if there's a way to combine your idea with aerofarming so that food is also produced. Here's a link to a table with information you might find useful. http://agritecture.com/post/20994786044/aerofarms-table

The Sustainable Urban Farm Initiative may have some useful information to combine with your idea.

Best of luck!

Julie

Hi, Diptanu,

My proposal "Life, Work And Storage Under The Trees" may be of interest. Forty years ago, I helped design a car park under a garden with substantial trees. The roof was shaped so as to give a substantial depth of soil over the columns (where the trees are planted) and much less at midspan (no wastage of soil). It was very cheap to build because of its repetitive nature. I have also described a possible village use in areas where land restoration is needed and the possibility of building a roof over dams, so that agriculture can proceed in an area which would otherwise not be available. Any opinions (good or bad) would be appreciated.

Hey everyone this has undergone many changes and I am sorry if it caused confusion. But the one for normal areas and this one for areas with low water availability have been split as the actions required are much different.

Also I want to thank Julie for the aero farming idea. Yes there are vegetables that are creepers and also in this particular proposal the plants in the bottles can be any. However the vegetables may not grow fast in the bottle ecosystem but in the proposal for normal regions it is a really good idea.
