I'm interested in the link with economic growth. Why not correct prices for externalities and use the funds to subsidise activities that cut consumption? Wouldn't this reverse the link so consumption falls and growth rises?

I noticed earlier today that support thumbs up had disappeared on quite a few proposals... including my thumbs up for others' proposals... what's going on?
