International climate negotiations

Introduction

The current version of the CoLab allows users to create proposals that outline emission reduction and land use targets of the kind that will be the subject of international climate negotiations that will occur in various venues.

UN process

The United Nations process has been the primary mechanism to date for international negoitations on climate policy.

In December 2009, representatives from all around the world gathered in Copenhagen, at a major meeting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The next major UN climate conference will be in Mexico in November-December 2010.
