Pitch
Groups around the world, have implemented successful campaigns to address local issues. We want to make this information widely available!
Description
Summary
The "Talk to me clean!" Toolkit has three objectives:
- Increasing Awareness
- "Flexible" Standardization of programs
- Reducing Transaction Costs
This toolkit, would be a collection of successful campaigns (not necessarily environmentally focused) that have been implemented around the world and have had a positive impact on the environment. For example, the mexican planned parenthood campaign "Small Families Live Better", the Colombian traffic campaign "Car Stoppage Days", the Los Angeles based "Water usage campaign", etc.
All these campaigns would be categorized along these dimensions:
- Message
- Channels
- Target
- Level (Local, National)
- Topic
- Resources
The idea is that institutions can use the database to identify best practices and examples that they can follow, at every level of society. The mesage would need to be localized, using the local knowledge of cultures.
Category of the action
Changing public perceptions on climate change
What actions do you propose?
- Setiing up the database or databases at all levels (Government, private institutions, NGO's, etc). The responsible party would be chosen after international discussion
- Crowd-sourcing content
- Providing access and advice to policymakers
Who will take these actions?
The action would be taken at different levels by Governments, Companies, NGO, communities, etc.
Where will these actions be taken?
Initially online, and then online adnd offline as the Toolkit starts growing and being used.
How much will emissions be reduced or sequestered vs. business as usual levels?
What are other key benefits?
It is not a toolkit for Climate Change only. It could be replicated/used for other purposes as well.
What are the proposal’s costs?
To be determined, but some of the aspects that would need to be addressed are:
- Developing the coding/website
- Personnel to make the inputs
- etc.
