Pitch

Coral reef and fish stock development!

Description

Summary

The Opportunity:

Researchers report that phytoplankton converts carbon-dioxide from the atmosphere into organic carbon during photosynthesis.

Although they make up less than 1% of the Earth's biomass, phytoplankton is responsible for roughly half of the Earth's natural carbon cycle.

The Challenge:  DECLINING FISH STOCKS

Warmer temperatures and human activity have caused carbon dioxide to become so concentrated in seawater that our coral reefs are dying at a rate that requires great alarm and urgency.

In fact, many officials predict that up to half of the world's coral reefs may die within the next 40 years . . maybe even sooner.

We desperately need a workable solution that will help restore our ocean's ecological systems by utilizing economical reef infrastructure .

Category of the action

Geoengineering

What actions do you propose?

Who will take these actions?

Where will these actions be taken?

What are other key benefits?

With ample food, water, and shelter . . there is normalcy!

With limited food, water, and shelter . . there is adaptation!

Without food, water, and shelter . . there is migration, lawlessness, and massive chaos!

What are the proposal’s costs?

Small strategic applications of Strategy #1 may cost as little as a few hundred dollars.

Huge applications are contingent on the need to accelerate results.

Strategies 2 and 3 will need huge amounts of revenue to set the infrastructure in place to confront the enormous problems of Planet Earth.
