Energy conservation consultant, carpenter, passive solar home designer (almost a passive house designer), masonry heater enthusiast, journalist. I've been studying and researching climate change, alternative energy, and alternative constructionmethods for more than 30 years. Unfortunately we are about 30 years late doing anything to stop climate change, and we are going to suffer miserably for a long time until we get it straightened out. Zika is just the first of the nasty diseases we can expect to spread from the tropics, sea-level-rise-exacerbated storm surges are already creating climate refugees (Katrina, Sandy), and most immediate, the permadrought/ megadrought has already begun, and we are going to get hungry, and very thirsty, as we turn 1/3 or 1/2 of our planet to desert over the next decade or three. 

Maybe that will wake us.
