Berl Hartman is the co-founder and leader of the New England chapter of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), a national group of senior business and professional leaders who advocate on behalf of strong environmental policy based on its economic merits. In this capacity, she leads E2's state and regional advocacy efforts; directs a team during E2’s annual trip to Washington; and serves as a member of the E2 National Advisory Board. Ms. Hartman was also a founding member of the New England Clean Energy Council (NECEC) and served on its Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Council’s Policy Committee. In 2008, she received the Council’s first Clean Energy Leadership Award. Prior to her E2 tenure, Ms. Hartman served as Sr. Vice President at Blanc & Otus, a subsidiary of Hill & Knowlton Public Relations, where she founded and led the company’s first Cleantech/Clean Energy practice. Before her cleantech career, Ms. Hartman held senior positions in the field of database software at Sybase, Computer Corporation of America, Boston University, University of California and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
