Founder and Executive Director of "e" inc.-- a 12-year-old not-for-profit teaching the hands-on science of beings, biomes, resources, and systems AND the civic engagement skills needed to make a difference. "e" inc. serves 6,500 urban children and teens in public schools and after schools in Greater Boston. Dr. Stern received her Doctorate from Harvard University in Human Development and Psychology with a focus on Evolutionary Biology. Recently back from a trip to Madagascar, Dr. Stern is interested in the ways informal education can create science literacy and environmental citizenry and action. This process is especially important for our capacity to save beings in the wild. To this end, "e" inc. is working to create an Environment Science Discovery and Action Museum in the Charlestown Navy Yard to expand its education-to-action mission.
