I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Simon Fraser University. My research is centered around investigating the effects of human activities on climate. Specifically, I am interested in exploring the interactions between climate and the carbon cycle, and the long-term effects of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions on climate. I also investigate the emission implication of meeting climate targets, such as the 2°C target adopted by many countries. I was among the first proponents of the "carbon budget" approach, establishing a linear relationship between cumulative carbon emissions and global warming.
