Yael Borofsky is pursuing a dual master's degree in MIT's Department of Urban Studies and Planning and in the Technology and Policy Program. She is a fellow in Tata Center for Technology and Design and is part of a multi-disciplinary team developing a low-cost electricity grid architecture for application in India. Her research focuses on GIS-based approaches to electrification planning in the developing world. She is also a co-founder of e4Dev, a new MIT Energy Initiative-sponsored student group and discussion forum exploring issues at the intersection of energy and human development.
