Deep Prakash is the founder of The Thin Page Pvt. Ltd, an institution that aims to offer high-quality, knowledge-based research, development, consulting and capacity building services to its clients on issues related to environmental management in Nepal. Established in February 2014, Deep is currently working as the Director of Research and Development to establish this newly formed company. Prior to this, he was the Senior Program Officer in the Climate Adaptation Program at the Himalayan Climate Initiative (HCI). His responsibilities included program development, fundraising and project implementation. The HCI focuses on undertaking a number of innovative and community-centric projects to mitigate climate change threats to Nepali communities.

Through his work in the areas of biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods and climate change adaptation and mitigation in low land areas and high hills of Nepal, Deep has observed the growing impacts of climate change on poor vulnerable communities. He believes that more efforts are required to strengthen climate change adaptation, mitigation through rural energy especially for mountainous communities who are already marginalized from development. The impacts of global climate change are threatening the livelihoods of mountain people and people living downstream. Deep Prakash strongly feels the need to integrate environmental concerns in development activities and is passionate about working to find out solutions to climate change adaptation and mitigation and incorporating current development interventions with climate-smart development. Deep Prakash obtained his BS and MS in Environmental Science from the Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
