Valeri Vasquez is Special Assistant to the Special Envoy for Climate Change at the U.S. Department of State, where she helps to coordinate U.S. strategy on international climate action through various multilateral and bilateral initiatives. Previously, Valeri worked in the Energy Policy division of the Center for American Progress, where her primary focus was on CAP's clean energy and climate advocacy campaign. Valeri assisted with Executive Office policy outreach surrounding the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico while working as an intern at the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). She has also served as a researcher and freelance contributor for two Washington area radio stations. Valeri received her BA from the College of William and Mary.
