For some other contests it may help CoLab members to prepare their entries here, gather comments and make improvements, before submitting elsewhere. Similarly, members are welcome to copy their entries made elsewhere and add as a proposal in the Climate CoLab. (Check contest rules in case other sites require unpublished work only). Thanks!
Minne Lentz Apr 17, 2013 10:28 Member 2 \| Share via:	The Postcode Lottery Green Challenge is the largest annual worldwide competition for sustainable entrepreneurs who can instigate change. The challenge is looking for products or services that combine sustainability, entrepreneurship and creativity. The products or services should: 1. Reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by an amount you can roughly estimate 2. Be developed enough to execute 3. Be realisable as usable product or service within the next two years 4. Preferably have integrated Cradle2Cradle principles in their designs Besides these criteria, the jury will also look at factors as: Communication potential, courageousness and creativity. Entry for the seventh edition of this competition opened today, until 17 July 2013. For more information have a look on www.greenchallenge.info, and hope to see many of you among this years entries!

The Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute and the Make It Right Foundation are challenging manufacturers to design a product for the affordable housing market. Up to twenty finalists will receive two months of media exposure and promotion for their products leading up to the announcement of the winners. The winning entrants (up to 3) will share a cash prize of $250,000 with 1st place receiving $125,000, 2nd winning $75,00 and 3rd getting $50,000. Winners will also benefit from valuable publicity through blogposts, press releases, partners' websites, social media buzz-up, and a high profile announcement at the 2013 Greenbuild International Conference & Expo."

The prize is US$25,000 and asks competitors to reimagine existing technology for a more sustainable home. Submitted ideas can explore potential solutions for a myriad of different types of homes: from basic dwellings to large apartment blocks, but all entries must reimagine latent technology to create or conserve energy.

It seeks to build the capacity of undergraduate students from these countries to use international environmental law to address disputes related to access and benefit sharing of genetic resources. The 2013-2014 theme is "Sea Turtle Protection and Cultural Practices." The West Africa Round will take place in November 2013 in Buea, Cameroon. Countries that can take part: Law Schools and Universities with Law programs from the following States: Benin, Cape Verde, Côte D'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo, Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tomé & Principé, Chad, and Rwanda Winners will compete at the finals of the International Environmental Moot Court competition at Stetson's Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy in Florida, USA, from April 10 to April 12, 2014.
