This model of sustainable Agro-forestry improves livelihood of small holders substantially by way of climatic and economic risk balancing in the long run while providing much needed wood to industry in wood deficit country like India. It is worth highlighting that the agroforestry model is ecologically more desirable as it helps in Soil and water conservation at the micro level and if adopted by all farmers in rural belt, can help as adaption mechanism for climate change impacts. The small wood generated as firewood at the time of harvesting saves rural women a lot of labour in fire wood collection. When adopted by whole village the impact on firewood collection is more pronounced not not because women are happy but it reduces de-forestation on the fringes of forest areas.
