2014 Climate CoLab Winners Announced

October 2, 2014
no comments

In March 2014, the Climate CoLab opened 18 contests on key challenges the world is facing as we confront climate change.

Nearly 600 proposals were submitted and evaluated by the Judges, who then selected 100 Semi-Finalists. After a round of feedback from the Judges and the community has been implemented in the proposals, 64 proposals have been selected as contest Finalists and opened for public voting.

Over the month of September, nearly 14,000 votes have been cast (tripling last year's record) and the Climate CoLab community doubled to over 30,000 members.

After a year and much hard work from our volunteer Advisors, Judges, Fellows, and Catalysts, the Climate CoLab community, and the proposal authors, we are proud to announce the winners of our 2014 contests.

See our full press release.

*No Judges' Choice winners were selected for these contests. Below is a message from the Judges of the Creating Public Demand for Green Building contest:

The Judges have strongly considered each of the Finalists and have decided to not award a Judges’ Choice Winner. The real estate and construction industry is very diverse and local context plays a huge role in successful strategies for industry transformation. While promising and effective in their own ways, the Judges deemed that each of the Finalists proposals would need greatly expand their scope in order to be applicable on a global or even regional scale and to be a 'game changer' for the industry. However, one entry was awarded as a Judges’ Special Commendation, and will be invited to showcase their work at the Climate CoLab conference.
